Welcome to AfroPod - The mobile afro hair care and barbering Salon created specifically to opperate in secure settings. Born from the intensive work undergone by SevenThreeOne, AfroPod provides an effective solution to the lack of hair care provision for people of colour in secure settings.
SevenThreeOne is a non-profit organisation that uses the Creative Industries to further the education and skills of serving prisoners, ex-offenders and disengaged young people. They currently have creative interventions in seven custodial establishments across the UK.
AfroPod began as a strand of SevenThreeOnes Black History Month programming in 2016. The idea has since evolved and grown into its own blossoming offshoot that responds directly to the need for tailored hair care provision for people of colour in HM establishments.
